Today in Art we used some of summer’s splendor as our inspiration. One of my personal passions is gardening, and every September my backyard is brimming with beauty when the sunflowers are in full bloom. Last night, with frost threatening, I decided to bring the last bit of summer inside!
The students learned about the color wheel and looked at sample projects in the style of Van Gogh’s Sunflowers. With gorgeous real flowers in front of us, we then used oil pastel to create some lasting beauty that will get us through the frosty fall! Here are some pictures of us in action… stay tuned for some art gallery shots when we finish these projects next week.
I can’t wait to see the final results!
